Parking Near Civil Rights Garden
Honestly, I did not plan my trip to the Civil Rights Garden properly. I remember that it was a weekend, a Saturday afternoon. I headed straight there, hoping to find a space to park. But unfortunately, or I can say due to my lack of planning, I drove around twice before actually being able to find a place to park my car.
Therefore, if you are planning to visit the Civil Rights Garden as well, don’t be dumb like me; plan well in advance.
Why street parking is tricky here
The garden is located at the corner of Pacific Ave and MLK Blvd, which are both busy streets. There are places to park near the street, but they are limited as the area is popular with restaurants. Nearby, there is also a Boardwalk Hall, Tanger Outlets, and Brown Park, which attract a lot of visitors.
What Actually Worked for Me
I parked at the Joyce Parking lot on 19 South New York Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. It seems to be a convenient place to leave a car, as one does not have to walk far to reach the garden- only a few minutes’ walk. This way, one saves time and avoids the stress of searching for a parking spot.
A Few Small Tips
Make sure to bring some cash with you just in case. Also, check the hours ahead of time just in case they change the timings. This place is also perfect if you want to go sightseeing because it’s right next to the Renaissance Plaza.
The next time you are planning on going to the Civil Rights Garden, be sure to give yourself extra time. Know where you are going to park ahead of time, and don’t leave your parking search to the last possible minute.
Sometimes the best parking options are not the closest ones. They are places where you can park, get out of your vehicle, and enjoy the walk.
That way, your visit can begin the way it should: with time to look around, take it all in, and enjoy the surroundings as well as the company.
